While I have bought Ace products for my College in the past, I recently tried to bring back minor plumbing parts left over from a home project. All I expected was a store credit to buy more Ace hardware products. First response - "You have to have a receipt for a refund or credit." Well, I had a receipt for some of the stuff (all unopened in original ACE Hardware packaging), but it was older than 30 days. Second response: "No refund or store credit on items older than 30 days" due to a change in policy. My response: Poor return policy equals no further business from me, whether for business or personal projects. All my future construction or maintenance projects will come from other sources.
Good hardware store ; very helpful staff. Several sections with housewares, decor, and clothing obviously oriented to "non-traditional" hardware customers. The prices are higher than the "big box" places, but sign up for their rewards program and every month you'll have coupons you can use.
